Rugged on the outside, with advanced technology on the inside, the HeartStart FRx AED is made aviation-ready with the FAA Approved Philips TSO-C142 Aviation Battery Pack.

This AED has been approved by the FAA with a Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certificate and you will receive this document with your AED. “TSO is a minimum performance standard issued by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for specified materials, parts, processes and applications used on civil
aircraft” meaning that both the design and production of the AED is TSO approved and safe and effective in flight. Specifically, the Aviation Battery Pack gives this AED the green light for use in the air at altitudes up to 15,000 feet.

“For those who get there first” Philips has created the right combination of tools within the FRx to ensure it can be used by the full spectrum of rescuers – novice on up to trained professionals. The FRx provides Life Guidance voice instruction that leads the rescuer through both necessary and important steps in the chain of survival - CPR coaching and shock delivery.

SMART technology is at the heart of the HeartStart FRx, with patented Quick Shock therapy, integrated SMART Pads II that give patient specific feedback, SMART analysis of heart rhythm and ECG artifact detection.

The same set of SMART Pads II can be interchanged between adults, infants and children by using the key to signal the AED as to who is receiving treatment.
